THE MEXICAN RIVIERA - Tulum, Jashita, Chable Maroma
The Mexican Riviera is in Quintanaroo, the coastal state on the Caribbean that has beautiful beaches, ancient ruins, lovely resorts and hotels, a lively vibe and many activities available.

TULUM

Tulum is a resort area on the Mexican Riviera that has retained its charm with small boutiques resorts in the lush jungle along the endless beautiful sand beach.  With its many restuarants, boutique shops, music venues and activities it is the go-to place for a sun and fun vacation.  A huge factor in retaining this charm is the ban on high rise hotels.  Instead there is a string of boutique resorts, each with its own unique feel and charm.

NOMADE
We were delighted with our stay at Nomade. It is nestled in the jungle along the beach with a variety of accomodations. We choose this spacious cottage with its deck, large private pool and outdoor bathing area.  The Namade grounds are enchanting.

Nomade offers a lot to experience including its morning yoga classes, its sunset ritual, its pool next to the beach and its lovely feet-in-the-sand restaurant.

Tulum atmospere - boutique resorts.  Part of the fun in Tulum is strolling along the beach and popping in on some of the stretch of boutique resorts, each with its own charms.  Here are examples of some spots we found to visit on such a stroll.

Tulum atmospere - restaurants.  Another part of the fun in Tulum is the array of dining choices.  The quality of cuisine is very high, both at the resort restaurants and at independent restaurants.  They are all charming and delicious.  Here are glimpses of the excellent Hartwood and the Nomade restaurants.

Tulum atmospere - things to see and do.  Another part of the fun in Tulum is the gamut of sites to visit and things to do. This includes visiting the nearby Reserva de la Biósfera Sian Ka'an, a protected jungle preserve offering guided boat tours, and wildlife sightings, the cenotes - fresh water pools in caves, and of course the many Mayan ruins.

CHABLE MAROMA

This is an ultra resort just north of Playa Del Carmen. The beach is huge and snow white with lounge chairs under a row of palm trees along the beach - maybe the best beach in Mexico.  The rooms are large and gorgeous with a patio and plunge pool.

Dining and pool. There are three beautiful restaurants around the huge infinity pool.

Chable Maroma activities. We took a boat for a snorkeling excursion, got massages at the spa, used its outdoor plunge pools, and attended the yoga sessions.

Puerto Morelos. We also visited the nearby charming little town of Puerto Morelos where we had a delicioius seafood lunch on the beach at Mara Bella.

Jashita is an intimate boutique resort just north of Tulum, with two pools, a spa, beach bar, a very good restaurant, lovely rooms and a very nice beach on a bay protected by a reef.
